Attorneys: Pro Bono Opportunities

PIRC is actively involved in offering training on the legal issues of ICE detainees to attorneys and volunteers. PIRC conducts legal training workshops for attorneys interested in handling pro bono cases through bar associations and law firms. Interested attorneys should contact PIRC's Executive Director for more information or email probono@pirclaw.org

Students: Internships & Post-Graduate Fellowships

Law Students & Undergraduate Students
Students are invited to inquire about volunteer projects and internships with PIRC during the academic year or summer. Opportunities are available for students to work with PIRC's legal staff and administration.

Post-Graduate Fellowships
Law school graduates and LLM students interested in applying for a post-graduate fellowships hosted by PIRC should contact PIRC at least three months prior to the particular fellowship proposal deadline.

Prospective fellows are requested to submit a preliminary letter of inquiry to PIRC indicating the particular fellowship sought, requisite deadlines and eligibility requirements, and a brief description of the project you wish to propose in your fellowship application.

Volunteers: Current Opportunities
PIRC invites community volunteers to assist us with language support, administrative assistance and other special projects.

Language Registry
PIRC maintains a list of volunteers with language skills who are able to provide interpretation and/or translation services on behalf of detainees with limited English proficiency. Volunteers control the types of services and amount of time they wish to dedicate to this project. When language skills are needed, PIRC contacts volunteers directly for assistance. Simply enlisting for the registry in no way obligates a volunteer!
